What is JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA®?
JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® XC is a crystal-clear gel that is injected directly into and around the lips using an ultra-fine needle to temporarily plump the lips for lip augmentation and to smooth the appearance of lines around the mouth. The lidocaine gel improves the comfort of the injection by reducing sensitivity to pain.
JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® XC can also be used to add volume to improve the appearance of undereye hollowing. Undereye hollows are depressed, sunken, or hollow areas below the eyes that contribute to a tired-looking appearance.
How long does JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® last?
JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® XC lasts up to 1 year, with optimal treatment.
What are the potential side effects of JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA®?
The most common side effects included temporary reactions at the treatment site such as tenderness, swelling, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising, pain, redness, discoloration, and itching.

Are there any reasons why I should not receive this filler?
Do not use these products if you have a history of multiple severe allergies or severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis), or if you are allergic to lidocaine or Gram-positive bacterial proteins used in these products.
What precautions should my doctor advise me about?
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The safety of these products during pregnancy or while breastfeeding has not been studied.
- Tell your doctor if you have a history of excessive scarring or pigmentation disorders.
- Tell your doctor if you are planning other laser treatments or a chemical peel, as there is a possible risk of inflammation at the treatment site if these procedures are performed after treatment.
- Minimize strenuous exercise, exposure to extensive sun or heat, and alcoholic beverages within the first 24 hours following treatment.
